The Customer Status screen is the main car movement section of ROCS. The main screen has three sub-screens for each customer: Inbound, Online, and Outbound. The Inbound screen shows the same information presented on the Inbound Cars, but in this case it is only the cars inbound to that specific customer. The waybill is accessible with a single click, and the user can set an anticipated arrival date for each car. The Online screen shows where the car is on the railroad, the car status, the next location the car is to be moved to, and the movement and shipment information of the car. The user records the car movements on this screen, as well as creates the outbound waybill for the car. The Outbound screen shows all cars that have been interchanged out in the last seven days, with the full information for the cars. All screens now incorporate the Track Capacities function, which shows the user at a glance how many spots the customer's sidings have, how many cars are spotted on the sidings, and how many spots remain. When the user clicks on Return to Menu to close the screen, ROCS automatically transmits all EDI and TRAINII information that has been generated since the last transmission. Also available on the Online Customer Status screen is an expanded movement record, where a user can record "extra" car movements beyond the standard moves on the screen.
The user can move multiple cars by using the Block Select function. Multiple cars are selected with a click on a check box, and any movement function can be performed on the selected cars.
